Service Description: This layer contains all the water distribution system information for the City of Chesapeake. The layers contain points for various structures, and lines representing water mains. The layers have distribution, transmission and raw water assets. The data was created to show the location of all underground utility assets. Each of the assets contains information regarding information such as size, material, length and unique asset numbers.
The data contained here within was created by using a various of sources which included, but are not limited to, GPS, geo-referenced record drawings and field observations. A good effort is made to keep the data as accurate and precise as possible and is updated on an as needed basis.
